I’m not calling myself an artist, but somehow i can feel what Bernadette feel when she didn’t create something. And, since i’m almost near my holiday and to make the holiday to be more productive, i plan to have this daily project of making some design, doing some coding, and more :p

When i finally create something like this graphic design, this kind of activity give me happiness, for myself at least. Hope my designs bring happiness to your day, too! :D

Life Map: Carnegie Mellon University (CMU)

(note: I try to write in English, sorry if i made mistakes with grammar~ )

I have this habit of planning (and updating) my life map and as i get older i need to make my plan/life map to be more focused. I need to find where i belong before it’s too late, moreover, i need to find the answer of the “Why do I live?” Yes, as a moslem, the purpose of life is to worship Allah, but how?  what kind of goodness that i can contribute to this world?

On Monday, at the midnight, i did some browsing for my reference for information security assignment. I have interest in usability (UX, UI, human interaction, etc) and also information security (yes, i know it’s kinda uncommon). To make the assignment more interesting for myself (it’s a must!), I searched security papers which also studied its usability. Then, who knew that i’d find many papers contain both usability and security from CMU. Suddenly, i felt excited! I knew that CMU has HCII (Human-Computer Interaction Institute) but then i found it’s information security lab (in which i found those many usable security papers) just got me more interested to CMU. Then i found the CyLab which has Privacy Protection (it’s the close one to usable security) and cross-cut thrust with cryptography and usable privacy & security. Interesting.

As i have mentioned above, i have interest in usability and security. Before i found those paper, i felt that i can choose only one of them for my first graduate study  (I can take as many as grad studies i want, can’t I?) But then, thanks to Allah for showing me that CMU CyLab which enable people to learn both usability & security (not only one of them) at the same time. I do not know whether it’s the best for me or not, but i wan it, so i need to add this to my prayer, thrive for it, and let Allah do the rest :)

Cerita Minggu Ini: Doctor Who

Minggu ini saya lagi nonton Doctor Who yang season 6 (11th Doctor, Matt Smith). Waktu baru selesai nonton season 4 (10th Doctor, David Tennant) sih sempet ga bisa move on dari Tennant, tapi ternyata....

Season 6 ini EPIC!

Ceritanya mulai kompleks, tapi tetep bisa diikutin dan seru. Dan di season 6 ini, banyak yang double episode (atau malah triple?), tiap episode masih berkaitan sama episode selanjutnya. Udah gitu, di akhir tiap episode pasti ada trailer episode berikutnya, terus bikin penasaran, dan alhasil jadi marathon nontonya hehe.

Dua hal yang membuat saya ga nonton Doctor Who pada malam hari adalah:

1. Emang udah ngantuk,

2. Udah liat trailer episode yang mau ditonton, terus horror, jadinya milih buat nonton besoknya. Kecuali di trailernya ga ketauan horror-nya tapi pas nonton malam-malam taunya horror, yaudah lanjut nonton karena penasaran ._.

Lalu, pada suatu pagi yang cerah di mana saya ada kuliah pagi, saya malah nemu page google plus Doctor Who Fans. Di halaman google plus-nya ada juga merchandise Doctor Who. Jadi kepingin..... 

Ada Rulebook-nya, tapi harus beli di amazon dan harganya 350ribu haha

Semoga sampai nanti-nanti serial ini terus ada :D

Today's Inspiration: Rachel Ryle

Hari ini dapet inspirasi lagi tentang dunia gambar-menggambar (ilustrasi). Ilustrator & animator yang menginspirasi saya kali ini bernama Rachel Ryle. Saya taunya dari berita Starbucks' Stop-Motion Clip on Instagram Strikes a Creative Chord Coffee brand wins again with social  yang muncul di home facebook (salah satu kegunaan facebook bagi saya). Terus saya buka link ke web-nya, nemu akun instagram-nya (http://instagram.com/rachelryle/) juga dan isinya keren-keren banget! Habis baca bagian profilnya, liat akun ig-nya, liat hasil stop motion yang dibuatnya makin nge-fans lagi soalnya dia otodidak dan dalam waktu sekitar 1-2 tahun berhasil dapet award sebagai ilustrator & animator \m/

Dan makin pengen main warna-warna pakai coloring brush pen.... (fix pas perwalian sekalian cari ke baltos hehehe)

Awal tau ada coloring brush pens ini dari instagram akun scrapbooker. Dari akun ig tadi juga, saya tau kalau ada yang jual pen ini di Bandung. Harga satu pen-nya belasan ribu (lupa pastinya). Hari ini saya tambah penasaran lagi sama pen yang kayanya asik banget buat warnain ilustrasi di kertas. Saya cari deh video-nya di youtube, terus makin kepengen....
